Wikis and other collaboration tools.

Spent part of the day building a wiki for this project. I have edited wikis in the past, but never had cause to build my own. I decided to use PBwiki and will post the link when I am done editing the first draft. Wikis are great tools for collaborative writing and PBwiki seems to be the easiest to use and share.

I am debating setting up Basecamp to display and coordinate the project management. It gets pricey to add the more useful features. I am aware of opensource alternatives but offer the type of transparency I am looking for. For most, Basecamp included, you need to have privileges to view pages. Backpack can be made public, but it lacks the project management tools. I am not sure about using the wiki as a project management tool, but that may be our best alternative. Any suggestions?

I personally use Wrike.com http://www.wrike.com for collaboration with my gang and for keeping all my stuff that has to be done. It’s got this wiki type buy the way. All the team members are at one and the same page and can edit the task in the wiki-like style. Pretty cool, right? In addition Wrike’s got useful features like Gantt charts and tagging. This works perfect for me :)
